What's Cookin' Tonight
Last updated: March 2026
Every neighbor has a dish worth sharing. We're here to make that possible.
Only list food you'd be proud to serve to a friend. Cook in a clean kitchen, use fresh ingredients, and follow California's MEHKO guidelines.
Accurate descriptions, real photos, correct allergen tags. If something changes - you ran out of an ingredient, the dish is running late - communicate early.
When you confirm an order, a neighbor is counting on you. Only confirm orders you can fulfill. If something comes up, cancel promptly so the foodie can make other plans.
The moment a neighbor comes to your door is what makes What's Cookin' Tonight different from every other food app. Make it a good one.
Set prices that reflect your effort and ingredients. This is your kitchen, your call - but remember you're cooking for neighbors, not strangers.
Cooks are encouraged to respond to in-app messages within 1 hour during their listed pickup window. Foodies are counting on you to confirm timing and answer questions.
Your cook cooked specifically for you. Arrive within the pickup window. If you can't make it, cancel as early as possible.
They opened their home to you. Be kind, be on time, say thank you.
You have 5 minutes for a free cancellation after placing an order. After your cook confirms, a 20% fee applies. This protects cooks who've already started cooking.
Genuine feedback helps cooks improve and helps neighbors discover great food.
The in-app messaging feature is there to coordinate pickup - confirm timing, share instructions, let your cook know you're on the way. It's not for spam, promotions, or anything unrelated to your order. Keep it neighborly.
Don't share or request phone numbers, addresses, or social media handles through in-app messaging. Pickup addresses are shared automatically when your order is ready.
What's Cookin' Tonight is a neighborhood platform. Everyone is welcome regardless of background, cuisine, or culture. Treat every interaction the way you'd want to be treated by a neighbor.
No fake reviews, no manipulated ratings, no gaming the referral system.
If you have concerns about food safety - as a cook or foodie - contact us at hello@whatscookintonight.com. We take this seriously.
Repeated violations of these guidelines may result in suspension from the platform. Serious violations (fraud, harassment, food safety incidents) result in immediate removal.
